KKTC Eduction celebrates offical opening

On February 11, 2025, KKTC Education proudly celebrated the official opening of its new office at Queen Street Village, marking a significant milestone in the growth story of KKTC Education and affirming its position as a market leader in the delivery of Early Childhood Education and Care qualifications for domestic and international students.

Coinciding with Experience Gold Coast’s launch of its new offshore international student scheme (where eligible students can access a $1,000 grant to put toward their education journey), the evening was a celebration of a shared commitment to advancing international education that positions the Gold Coast as Australia’s premier study destination.

The opening address was delivered by the Honourable Hermann Vorster, Assistant Minister for Multicultural Affairs & International Student Attraction. The Assistant Minister was energised about the future of international education in Queensland and that any issue or opportunity that Experience Gold Coast members were facing would be addressed proactively through his office. The Assistant Minister further highlighted the growing appeal of the Gold Coast as a thriving study destination and the vital role institutions like KKTC Education play in shaping the future of vocational training for international students.

Speaking after the Assistant Minister was KKTC Educations’ CEO & Managing Director, Sam Hendry who provided an overview of the RTO’s 12-year journey to get to opening their new campus. Sam said the RTO started with a handful of students on the Gold Coast and today trains in over 1200 long day care centres from “Cairns right down the Eastern seaboard to Adelaide”, and that KKTC’s Trainers are 100% committed to both their domestic and international students.

“Currently there is a 21,000 shortfall of educators in the sector and with the increasing cost of living pressures and need for two working parents – childcare is the issue that will attract a lot of attention when we go to the polls in the next few months. Attracting more educators and delivering the highest standard of training in ECEC is critically important and KKTC lives by the mantra to train, mentor and assess educators to inspire & nurture every child’s potential,” he said.

KKTC Education’s presence on the Gold Coast is longstanding and its new state of the art campus will provide invaluable opportunities for students aspiring to pursue qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care. With a strong focus on quality training and industry engagement, KKTC Education is dedicated to equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their careers.

As KKTC Education embarks on this exciting new chapter, it remains committed to empowering students, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to the growth of the Gold Coast as an international education destination. The opening of the Queen Street Village campus is just the beginning of a transformative journey, and we look forward to welcoming students from across the world to experience the exceptional opportunities that await them here.
